Charlotte Martin - August 2018

PRAISE:   We were able to go to print on time with our small group resources for the fall. We have them in hand and available to campuses and it's only July!  PRAY:  In our last month of Create Mission Trip we hope to re-try our most successful online campaigns. Pray that we could connect with many students online in August.  In Sept I will transition to a new role on our global missions team. Pray that my team could get our last small group study written and all the other small details wrapped up before this transition. Pray too that God would be preparing me for this role.

Ray & Carol - August 2018

PRAISE:  We are very thankful for all of you who continue to faithfully pray for us! The Lord continues to provide ample opportunity for ministry and witness so  prayer is vital! Had a great time speaking on the Doctrine of the Holy Spirit over the Victoria Day Weekend at Guelph Bible CC. PRAY: Carol  continues to need prayer for her health problems. She is unable to use her right arm much due to painful tendon separation.  I have had a string of very good health reports and it will soon be four years since my cancer surgery. The Lord has clearly led me to avoid speaking in the evening; I tend to get more tired these days.  Much of what we do is the same month by month, so if we miss the P & P, please keep praying for us!

Esther Frey - August 2018

PRAISE:  Progress in healing of my eyesight.  Enjoying the use of my own car. Progress in getting electricity on the island - still areas without.  Camp is in progress for 30 young people, July 22-28. Two of our inmates just got released, one returned to Puerto Rico.  Two finished the 89 courses available in Spanish. Many communicating to continue their studies. Had a good work day at the chapel.  Trying to get the upstairs in shape to use it again. We have been meeting in the basement. PRAY:  This month a brother is coming to work with me in the Emmaus office.  He is praying for God's guidance in his life. We continue to pray for God's guidance for a future director.  More stability in my eyesight. Got new glasses after four months from the operation and in a month the prescription changed.  Varun and Sarah are settling into 2 years in Gainesville, Florida. They were here this weekend to finish packing and leave the room ready for guests.  Pray that someone might be interested in missions here and live with me. Also have several doctor's appointments this month. Special request for the Quintana assembly - several have left and there is no mature spiritual leadership.  Very sad.

Phil & Andrea - August 2018

PRAISE:   For good times together. That Phil had a productive week meeting with colleagues in the US in mid-July.  For a few brief opportunities to share what God through the ministries we are involved in! That Kieran's semester is complete.  PRAY:  For good family time at a cottage for a few days.  For family good-byes - Andrea and Cara as they travel to Niger (Aug 12 & 13) for Cara to start classes Aug 14 and Phil as he returns to Ghana the 15th, arriving about the same time as Andrea comes from Niger.  For Cara as she starts her final year of classes and contemplates future study plans. For Kieran as he adjusts to the reality of staying in Canada for his final year rather than going on an international placement.  For the boys as they work for August.

Summer Update

Dear Friends and Family,

What a year! It’s hard to believe the school year has come to an end. I have exciting things to share about what Jesus is doing in my life!

For the past year and a half, I have been working through the credentialing process at YFC. This includes week long training events, offsite scouting, a Bible and Theology paper, a Philosophy of Ministry paper and the final credentialing interview. It has been an incredible time of learning and growing. As of June 4th, I am officially credentialed!

As a year-end trip, we took youth from our Campus Life program, the Impact Leadership program and some youth who attend our drop-in centre to Wonderland. We had a blast! More than that, two of the drop-in youth opened up about really difficult things they’ve experienced. Sometimes their brokenness is really hard for me to understand but regardless, God is moving. It is clear He is calling their hearts to His. Please pray for transformation in these kids’ lives.

For the summer I will be serving at Conestoga Bible Camp on the pastoral team for the second year. I absolutely love watching the counselors serve, learn and grow as they desire to know Jesus more and more.

I really believe I am living in God’s sweet spot as I serve in Listowel. Time and time again He has revealed Himself in mighty ways and I am humbled every time. I am thrilled to announce I will be joining Youth for Christ/Youth Unlimited in the fall as salaried staff. Up until this point I have been working as an intern with year-long contracts. This is a big step!  I cannot wait to see what God has in store as I continue to build into the youth of Listowel.

As I step in faith into a more permanent position, it requires a larger financial need. With the transition of coming onto salaried staff, I need additional monthly support. My salary solely depends on the generosity of an incredible team of people.

If you haven’t already, will you join me in making Jesus’ name known in Listowel by joining my support team? You can do this by filling out the enclosed response form.

This ministry is not possible without you. Thank you for your prayer and support!

All for His Glory,
Jenn Brubacher
