Trevor & Hannah Martin - Power to Change

One Step In The Journey

In November, we had two opportunities to set up our "Perspectives Booth" at the University of Waterloo. At these booths we put up 5 banners that have questions to spark spiritual conversations.  The question that Steph* was intrigued by was  "Where do you find spiritual truth?" When Hannah first approached her, she was quite reserved, but willing to chat.

Hannah learned in the conversation that Steph was raised in an "anti-religious" home and her mom was hurt by badly by the church. However, one of Steph's friends from Biology class is a Christian and her faith has intrigued her. Steph has even gone to some bible studies with her friend.

This is the spot in Steph's faith journey I got to step into. In our 45 minute conversation, we talked about how science and the Christian faith can be compatible, how the bible is reliable, and how Christians are sometimes sadly bad representatives of Jesus. She was very curious and I pointed her to a few websites (like www.gotquestions.org) that could answer some of her questions.

We don't know if we will ever cross paths again, but Hannah left Steph with her phone number in case she wanted to dialogue further.  It's so amazing to be a small part of God drawing someone nearer to Himself.  Please pray for Steph as she wrestles with God, faith and science. Pray that one day she will be willing to call Jesus her Saviour and Lord.

God at Work In Calgary

This fall Trevor got visit our P2C student ministry in Calgary at both the University of Calgary (U of C) and Mount Ro. At U of C, he got to participate in a prayer meeting, student leadership meeting and an outreach booth called "Ask a Christian, get a cookie". He also got to be apart of outreach called 'honest humans" which was a discussion based event on the topic of doubt.
