Seeing Jesus at Summit
On a surprisingly warm weekend at the end of September, 350+ university and college students from Southwestern Ontario made their way to Haliburton for a weekend away for our annual Summit Fall Retreat. Some of these students went with the intention to grow in their walk with Jesus. Some of these students didn't know that God's intention was to meet with them.
Tia*, a Conestoga College student, was excited for a weekend away and invited a few of her friends to come with her. Tia, Amanda* and a few other friends hopped on the school bus taking them to Summit. Amanda wasn't a Christian and just decided to come because Tia invited her. On the bus, they talked about the gospel & chatted through Amanda's questions on the whole bus ride up. During the extended time of prayer & musical worship on Saturday night, Amanda experienced prayer & God's presence for the first time. From what we can tell, she then decided to follow Jesus alongside those two friends. Tia and some other friends prayed with her that night, and Amanda was so happy and encouraged! We're finding a time to meet up with her to learn more about her decision and walk alongside her in these first weeks of following Jesus. Please pray for Amanda's very young faith and that it would grow deep roots in Jesus. Pray also that Tia and Amanda would be able to grow together as disciples of Christ.

Prayer Items
1. Praise God for His work in students' lives at Summit. Pray that it would not just be a 'flash in the pan', but that we would see disciples of Christ raised up on campus, in their churches and influencing the world as they graduate.
2. Pray that we could be lights for Jesus to those that we interact with consistently (our sports teams, school moms, kids teachers, our neighbours, etc.)
3. Pray for our family (and especially Trevor's mom) as we continue to grieve the loss of Trevor's dad in the spring.
