OLD TESTAMENT CLASSES

These are the three courses offered in the Old Testament track. Read below for details.

Genesis

In this course, students will explore the foundational truths found in the book of Genesis: creation, humanity made in God’s image, the entrance of sin into the world, God’s covenant promises, and His unfolding plan of redemption.

Genesis introduces us to the character of God and His desire to bless all nations through His people As we walk through this rich and powerful book, we will see how Genesis not only sets the stage for the rest of the Bible but also speaks directly to our understanding of God, ourselves, and the world we live in.

Psalms

Psalms is scripture’s songbook—a collection of poems, prayers, and praises that give voice to the full range of human experience.

Whether rejoicing or grieving, praising or lamenting, crying out in need or resting in God’s faithfulness, the Psalms teach us how to bring our whole selves honestly before God. In this study, students will explore the structure, themes, and types of psalms—such as praise, lament, thanksgiving, and wisdom—while paying close attention to how they shape our worship, deepen our trust in God, and point us to Christ. Psalms offers words to speak to God and truths to anchor your soul.

Isaiah

Often called the “fifth Gospel,” the book of Isaiah offers a sweeping vision of God’s holiness, justice, and mercy—and points us forward to the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ.

In this study, students will journey through key sections of Isaiah, exploring themes of judgment and hope, sin and salvation, exile and restoration. We will see how Isaiah called God’s people to repentance, revealed God’s heart for the nations, and gave stunning prophecies of the Suffering Servant who would bring redemption to the world. Along the way, we will be challenged to see our own lives in light of God’s glory and to respond with faith, obedience, and hope.
