Praise God for the opportunity we had to be at the Ghana team's annual conference. It was great to spend time with many old friends who we remember from our time there.
Praise God for the opportunity Phil had to teach on being a "People of Peace" and for Andrea on "Making God our Home".
Pray that the things we shared with the Ghana team can continue to challenge and encourage them.
Praise God for a great week off with our whole family. We had a wonderful time together relaxing and spending time in nature.
We plan to drive to Charlotte, USA leaving Sept 1 for Phil to have time with his leadership team and then Board of Governors Meeting. Please pray for safety on the road and for effective and productive times with the leadership team and in the Board meetings. (There is a running joke that SIM stands for "Sitting in Meetings" and that's exactly what we'll be doing the next two weeks.)
Phil is in the process of leading a restructuring for SIM International so this is a very important time with his leadership team.
SIM has a great group of people on the Board of Governors. They are responsible for overseeing all of the work of SIM. Phil has worked with the Board Chair to present to the Board the 'State of the Mission' to help them better engage with the successes and challenges that we face as an organisation.
Andrea doesn't need to be in all the meetings, but will continue working from there. Pray that she will be able to connect with and be an encouragement to many different people, especially those in personnel roles.
