Update on my Mom. Praise: Mom’s health issues have been resolved for the most part.
Please continue to pray for her salvation. Also pray that she would settle and get involved in some of the activities.

Please continue to pray for my cousin that has brain cancer. On Sunday she had a seizure so they took her by ambulance to Grand River. They took an MRI and this has to be sent to Hamilton to be read (I’m assuming that’s because she was seeing an oncologist for treatment). They have put her in a chemically induced coma for now to give her body some rest. Please continue to pray for her salvation as well.

Kingston Prison Ministry

Following many months and often even many years behind prison barriers, an inmate's next step in their correctional plan is to be granted day parole by the National Parole Board to a halfway housein an appropriate community.

These halfway houses are located in most of our larger city centres across the country. (There are two different types of halfway houses. Some are managed by Corrections Canada and others by private organizations, such as the Salvation Army.)

Shoulder to Shoulder in Bangkok and Jakarta

We wanted to share two short stories that make us smile in terms of how we get to serve leaders in Southeast Asia.

Story 1: “Russ, can you give me a personal tutorial so I can study it? We need to use this information to reach my people in Vietnam,” explained Phoebe. “Of course,” said Russ, “That’s why I made this trip to Bangkok.” Over two hours later, the coaching session ended with Phoebe confidently equipped.

A “Chill” Summer

CHILL WITH A CHRISTIAN

Chill with a Christian was the name of an outreach that we did at the University of Waterloo this summer. You can see students in the picture above having conversations as they gave away ice cream sandwiches and freezies. So many great conversations were had. Here are some of the highlights from the students:

"I was scared to do this because, I have never had a spiritual conversation before, but this was fun! Scary but fun!"

We would like to ask for prayers and as we move to a new area away from our family and friends. Pray that the kids would adjust well and that we settle in quickly. Also prayers would be great for Arianna that she continues to do well and that her shunt continues to work. Also please pray that we could find a Church Family like WBC. We just want to thank everyone for the love and support over the last few years. We look forward to seeing everyone when we come back for visits. Visitors are always welcome. We have lots of room.
Feel free to message us for our new address. Thanks Again.

How God Answered Your Prayers.

A few weeks ago we asked you to pray for us during an intense season. Here's how God answered your prayers.

1. Hosting an internship program

Although this was a break in our regular family rhythms, the kids were troopers and managed well. Our interns, 3 from the Philippines and 1 from the U.S. enjoyed getting to know our kids too.

Update from Ecuador!

Dear Wallenstein family,

The months of May and June have been months of beginning things and taking the initiative. Youth group began May 11 - We have begun by starting discipleship groups with the youth who were just baptized. Please pray that this would bear fruit in the youth’s lives and strong friendships would be created, both with each other and more importantly with their Savior!

Raul has begun teaching computer class again. As there are no computers just yet, he is teaching from a textbook, but we hope to get the computer lab up and running in the near future and the kids are excited!

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer and deeds. We are so grateful for our strong church family back home.

Dave & Agnes Vandermolen

Thanks to all of you for your thoughts, prayers, and concerns re my recent heart surgeries. I do a lot of resting, take a lot of meds, go for blood tests, do very short walks, and slowly I am getting better. Please continue to pray for Agnes, the kids, and myself. I need patience, because I'd really like to start getting some work done, but I don't want to overdue it too quickly either. Pray that the kids will be able to have as enjoyable a summer as possible, and that Agnes will be able to do her work and not become overtired.
